Mitchell's
Park Street Pharmacy
Historic Calico Rock, Arkansas
In 1879, Roby and Calloway became the first druggists in Izard County
when they opened their pharmacy on Main Street.  After natural disasters
and other setbacks, they soon closed their doors.  Since the Evans
Brothers opened their pharmacy on Main Street, in what is today
Clinkingbeard's Soda Fountain, the pharmacy has been in continuous
service to our community for 92 years.

In the 1940s, Reed Mac Perryman bought the pharmacy.  He and his
daughter, Brenda Ward, owned the pharmacy for 50 years.  In 2000,
Sarah and Steven Mitchell bought the pharmacy.  This year, we are
celebrating 10 years of management by the Mitchells.
Over the years, we've made several changes inside
and out to make everything look new and fresh.
Without Mark Green, however, the displays and store
would not have the great look they do.
At Diane Rush's
retirement in February
2007, we brought
together our present and
former employees.  (L-R)

Our 10th Anniversary Celebration
Monday February 1, 2010
Bob and Marilyn Panneman enjoy the food catered by Paula
Blundell of  Brookfalls Restaurant.
Susan Gray, baby Sarah Gray, John David Mitchell, Emma
Mitchell, and Caroline Mitchell enjoy the festivities.
Drawings were held every hour for $10 bills.  In all, ten $10 bills
were given to our customers in appreciation for 10 great years.
Diane Rush came out of retirement long enough to mingle with
customers during our celebration.
Dean and Peggy Hudson enjoyed the celebration.
Each member of our staff received a beautiful floral bouquet.
Roy Teal was the first customer of our new decade and won a
$100 gift certificate.
While the festivities abounded up front, the pharmacy staff
worked diligently in serving our customers health care needs.
